ADJECTIVES OF ATTITUDE

Adjective of attitude is an adjective that describes the emotion or attitude of someone to things, animals, and people.          

Notes: Participles used as adjectives

Present participle (V-ing): is used to describe a person or thing that creates this emotion

àactive meaning.

2. Past participle (V-ed/ V3): is used to describe an emotion of someone to person, thing, animal

àpassive meaning.

Exercise 1.Write the adjectival forms of the verbs below.

Exercise 2.Complete two sentences for each situation. Use adjective ending –ingor–edform of the verb in brackets to complete each sentence.

Ex: The movie wasn’t as good as we had to expect. (disappoint)

The movie was disappointing.

 We were disappointed with the movie.

It’s been raining all day. I hate this weather. (depress)

Indefinite article: a / an

_ 'a' with nouns starting with a consonant(letters that are not vowels)

_ 'an' with nouns starting with a vowel (a, e, i, o, u)       

Uses:

A/ an is used to refer to a singular, countable noun for the first time      

2. A/ an is used to refer to a particular member of a group or class      

B. Definite Article:        the

Uses:is used for singular and plural nouns, countable and uncountable nouns, namely:

To refer to something which has already been mentioned.

2. When both the speaker and listener know what is being talked about, even if it has not been mentioned befor
